Making Better Batteries

It is estimated that a twelve fold increase in battery capacity is needed to meet the demand for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage by 2025 alone. 


By 2040, batteries storing solar power for businesses and households will account for 57 percent of the world’s energy storage capacity. Costs, safety, recyclability, energy density and charge time are all factors that must be addressed to enable a sustainable battery industry. Materials technology is the key to such advancement. Calix’s unique technology is being developed to produce advanced materials for batteries.

  Advanced Battery

Calix’s unique technology is being developed to produce advanced materials for batteries – a major growth market over the coming decades as the world transitions to renewable energy and increasing demand is required of efficient, cheap and high capacity electricity storage.

Calix is set to undertake new projects- valued at over $9 million – for advanced battery development and CO2 capture work, based in Australia and Europe – as well as completion of construction of its BATMn reactor for advanced battery materials.
