Calix’s Aqua-Cal+ is a special formulation of Magnesium Hydroxide enhanced with Calcium. It improves the quality of water and thereby promoting better and healthy aquatic life. Aqua-Cal+ is non-toxic, non-corrosive, safe to handle and environment-friendly.
Huang Xiaohua Farm is a large-scale farm with 1000 x 200m3 ponds all under cover.
They grow White Shrimp with 2 crops per year.
Stock Density is 120 pcs/m3 with 90 day grow out.
Harvest size is 20 pcs/kg
1. Increase survival rate to 95%
2. White Head disease was eliminated by improving water quality.
3. Harvest weight was increased by more than 20%
4. Other chemical inputs were reduced
Using AQUA-Cal+ at 20 ppm for tank preparation we enabled the increase survival rate from 85% to 95%.
Weekly dosage of AQUA-Cal+ at 4 ppm was able to increase yield by more than 20%.
AQUA-Cal+ also produced healthier shrimp and solved the problem of dark brown water with a significant pungent odour.
Rudong Huang Xiaohua where impressed with AQUA-Cal+ and have now become a sub distributor in the Rudong area.
There are 30,000 ponds using the same culture method in Rudong district potential for AQUA-Cal+ is 600 m/t p.a.
Farmers comment. “My shrimp are more healthy, water is now a nice brown green with no bad smell. I reduced my input cost and increased yield”
AQUA-Cal+ is made by flash calcining a mixture of magnesite and dolomite to produce a unique, very high surface area powder, and then hydrating the powder to produce a slurry for ease of application to ponds. It has been specially formulated to impact on both the aqueous and benthic ecosystems in the pond.
